Day 32 Mang Den
Rest day- phew and rest day it was. Strolled into town to find breakfast- a 'ban mi op la' no less. (Small baguette with fried egg, greenery and chilli sauce) . Ate it back at our homestay with a cup of tea and chilled. Phones (Duolingo, wordfinder and books for me and for Pete- a long nap. I sat in either the living area or outside in the shade - the view from both is of the mountains- my happy place. Pot noodle for a late lunch and as it cooled down, a little explore of the area. There are many hill tribes in this central plateau and we came across a display of one of their villages in real life size.
'Tet', the Vietnamese Lunar New Year falls on 10th Feb and shops and restaurants we have been told are closed so we should stock up on food. With no cooking facilities, all we could think of was pot noodles (we can always ask for hot water) , biscuits and peanuts!!! We will get some fruit as well.
As it's so lovely here and apparently the place we are going to next is 35 deg¹rees we have decided to stay up here an extra night as there are lakes and waterfalls to visit close by. The lady running the homestay is very chatty and said she would cook for us - a delicious pizza and loads of salad.
Nothing else to report as a very quiet uneventful but lovely day.
Well earned by the sound of things! 🍻
